PURE FISHING OPTS OUT OF ICAST

Pure Fishing, the largest company in the industry, has announced that it will not be attending this year’s ICAST.

Jon Schlosser, Pure Fishing’s Chief Brand and Product Manager, confirmed that the company, which owns well-known brands such as Berkley, Abu Garcia, PENN, and Plano, will be shifting its focus away from the world’s largest fishing tackle trade show in Orlando, Florida, this July.

Instead, Pure Fishing will be hosting its media and customer business events at its newly opened showroom at its headquarters in Charleston, South Carolina.

The decision is a significant development for ICAST’s organizer, the American Sportfishing Association (ASA), which aims to unite the industry’s major players under one roof at an event that attracts more than 13,000 trade visitors annually.

“This headquarters represents a significant investment in the future of our brands and our ability to engage directly with the industry,” said Schlosser. “It is also part of why we made the decision not to attend ICAST this year.”
