Skeeter and Yamaha Partner for 2025 CCA Alabama STAR Tournament

The 2025 CCA Alabama STAR Tournament is set to make waves with an exciting new grand prize boat package. This year’s winner will take home a 2025 Skeeter SX221 Bay Boat, powered by a Yamaha F-200 Motor, and hauled on a Skeeter Tandem Axle Aluminum Trailer—a package valued at over $80,000.

STAR 2025 kicks off on May 24 and runs through September 1. Leading up to the tournament, 30 slot-sized redfish will be tagged and released in Mobile and Baldwin Counties, offering anglers a shot at landing the ultimate prize.

A Second Chance at the Grand Prize

Last year, 11 of the 30 tagged redfish were recaptured, with nine caught during the tournament. However, none of the anglers who caught them were registered, meaning the grand prize boat went unclaimed. This year, those fish—and the Skeeter/Yamaha boat package—are waiting for you!

“We’re thrilled to continue our partnership with Yamaha and Skeeter for the 2025 STAR Tournament,” said Blakeley Ellis, CCA Alabama Executive Director. “With the upgraded Skeeter SX221 and a larger 200-horsepower Yamaha motor, this year’s grand prize sets the bar higher than ever. Plus, we’ve introduced exciting new ways for anglers to win each week and added a youth tagged redfish division for anglers under 18.”

New Youth Division & Weekly Competitions

Youth anglers can register for just $10, which covers the cost of a CCA membership—the STAR Tournament entry is free. The first registered youth angler to catch a tagged redfish will win a BOTE inflatable kayak package.

Additionally, the tournament will feature weekly competitions for speckled trout within the Fishing Chaos app. To participate, sign up through JoinCCA.org, then create an account in the Fishing Chaos app to become eligible for weekly prizes.

How to Register

To claim any tournament prizes, you must be a CCA member and registered for the STAR Tournament. Sign up at JoinCCA.org or through the Fishing Chaos app to ensure you’re eligible.
